Lace Wig Lifting at Hairline
Lace lifts at the hairline when oil, sweat, or product breaks down the adhesive. Clean the edge, dry it fully, and reapply adhesive in thin layers.

The fix
- lift only the loose section and clean skin underneath with an alcohol wipe
- let the area dry completely before adding more adhesive
- apply adhesive or gel in thin layers and wait until tacky
- press the lace down with the end of a comb and tie with a melt band until set
If it’s still not right
- Remove and reinstall the front if makeup and oil are trapped across the whole hairline.
- Stop using adhesive if the skin gets sore, itchy, or irritated.
Prevent it next time
- Keep foundation and skincare away from the exact lace line.
- Clean the hairline before installing and avoid heavy oils near the front.

Why this works
Lace lifting is usually an adhesion issue, not a lace issue. If the skin is oily or coated, new glue cannot bond evenly and the edge pops back up.
Cleaning first gives the adhesive a real surface to grip. Waiting until each layer is tacky keeps the bond thin and flexible instead of wet and slippery. Adding glue over sweat, edge control, foundation, or old adhesive usually creates a thicker mess that lifts again quickly because none of the layers are firmly attached to skin.
Working only on the loose section keeps the repair controlled. Alcohol removes oil fast, but the area still needs to dry before adhesive goes on. Thin layers dry more evenly, and the melt band holds the lace flat while the bond finishes setting. If the whole front is contaminated with makeup or oil, a full remove-and-reinstall is cleaner than chasing lifted spots all day.
