Perfume Fades on Dry Skin
Perfume fades quickly on dry skin because there is not enough moisture or oil for scent to hold onto. Layer unscented moisture first and spray lower-pressure pulse points.

The fix
- moisturize the area with unscented lotion before applying perfume
- add a tiny amount of fragrance-free body oil only if your skin is very dry
- spray once on moisturized skin and once on clothing if the fabric will not stain
- avoid rubbing wrists together because friction can make top notes disappear faster
If it’s still not right
- Choose an eau de parfum or richer scent family if very light citrus scents vanish in minutes.
- Carry a travel spray and reapply lightly instead of overspraying in the morning.
Prevent it next time
- Apply fragrance after lotion has absorbed but before skin feels completely dry.
- Keep perfume away from hot bathroom storage so it stays stable.

Why this works
Fragrance lasts longer when it can sit on a hydrated surface. On dry skin, the alcohol flashes off and the scent can feel like it disappears with it. Adding moisture gives the perfume a base without forcing you to apply more sprays.
The unscented part matters. Scented lotion can change the perfume and make it smell muddier. A tiny amount of body oil can help very dry skin, but too much oil can dull the fragrance or transfer to clothing.
